About Penelope

YOGA 121 WITH PENELOPE COOMBER BWY Dip.,  FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS OF YOGA IN EASTBOURE.

Penelope has been practicing yoga most of her life and is Qualified to teach Yoga in the tradition of Krishnamacharya she also holds The British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Teaching Diploma as well as the British Wheel of Yoga Advanced Accredited Teaching Diploma.

A competent and understanding tutor, additionally a mentor for students on Teacher Training Courses together with her Yoga121 students, classes and workshops, also delivering workshops for The British Wheel of Yoga. (Click on Classes and Events for more information).

Penelope's Mentor is Gill Lloyd a student of TKV Desikachar for many years. Penelope has travelled to study at the KYM in Chennai twice and has had the privilege of studying with Desikachar on both occasions. The Yoga of Krishnamacharya discipline is to teach in the holistic tradition of Krishnamacharya, and it is this approach that Penelope applies to her Yoga121 sessions, embracing a tradition that focuses very much on the individual with an understanding that Yoga is not a "one size fits all" practice. In addition to delivering a personalised approach to yoga, Penelope is also a qualified aromatherapist, relaxation and stress management therapist, beauty therapist and healer member of the Sussex Healers and a Reiki Master.

Penelope continues to undertake an advanced study of
PataƱjali's Yoga Sutras and qualified as a Vedic Chanting Teacher. She has completed a course on Meditation in the Yoga Tradition enabling her to teach Meditation. She has also attended over the last five years advanced study groups on Asana, Pranayama, Yoga for women, Sanskrit, Mantra, Bhagavad Gita, Hathayogapradipika, and Advanced Teaching Skills.

Penelope has starte
d a small personalised study group for Teachers and students who wish to study the Philosophy of Yoga. This group is now well established and the students attending are enjoying the process of this study experience. I am is also proposing to start a small meditation group so please keep an eye on my Attended Classes for details as they become available.
